People + Arts (Spain/Portugal) 10:30PM CET - The Long Game (repeat)
Friday 5 May:
CBBC 6:30PM BST "Totally Doctor Who" ep 4
BBC Three 9PM BST - School Reunion (repeat)
SciFi US 9PM EDT/PDT - The Empty Child
Saturday 6 May:
CBBC 6:30PM BST "Totally Doctor Who" ep 4
BBC One 7PM BST - The Girl In The Fireplace
BBC Three 7:45PM BST - From Script To Screen
Sunday 7 May:
BBC Three 7PM BST - From Script To Screen (Cut Down)
BBC Three 7:15PM BST - The Girl In The Fireplace (repeat)
ATV World (Hong Kong) 11:45PM - Bad Wolf
BBC Three 3:25AM BST - From Script To Screen
Monday 8 May:
CBBC 1PM BST "Totally Doctor Who" ep 4
School Reunion had overnight ratings of 7.6 million viewers on
Saturday 29 April, the highest rated show on TV that day. The final
ratings for New Earth on 15 April were 8.62 million viewers, an
increase of over 600,000 from its overnight result. Final ratings
for Tooth and Claw were 9.24 million viewers, an increase of over
300,000 from its overnight result.
As of this Saturday (6 May), UK Viewers see Doctor Who on BBC One
return to its "regular" start time of 7PM Saturdays. (It was
scheduled for 7:15PM on 15 and 22 April, 7:20PM on 29 April). BBC
Three's initial airing of Doctor Who Confidential moves to 7:45PM.
These were the regular start times last year during Series 1, and
will be the airing times this week and 13 May, at least. Last year
Eurovision forced Doctor Who to air early - Eurovision is on 20 May
this year, and we should know Friday if it will move the start time
for Doctor Who that day.
BBC Three's repeat schedule is being tweaked again. Cut Down (15
minute) versions of Doctor Who Confidential will now air Sundays at
7PM (starting 7 May) and Fridays at 9:45PM (starting 12 May). Doctor
Who repeats are 7:15PM Sundays and 9PM Fridays. Uncut episodes of
Doctor Who Confidential are bouncing around in the 3AM hour late
Sundays/early Mondays (3:25PM late May 7, 3:30AM late May 14). Last
year BBC Three altered the schedule frequently during the series -
some of these times will almost certainly change again before the
current run finishes in July.
ABC Australia http://www.abc.net.au/tv has scheduled the 6 episode drama Rocket Man to air Saturdays at 7:30PM starting 27 May. It should run through 1 July. At last word ABC had told the SFSA fan club that Series 2 (beginning with The Christmas Invasion) would air Saturdays at 7:30PM. If so, this would mean that the new Doctor Who episodes will not reach Australia until at least 8 July.
SciFi US http://www.scifi.com has put up schedule information for June, though not episode titles for TV shows like Doctor Who. The first 2 weeks of June show Doctor Who airing at its regular times (Fridays 9PM & Midnight, Sundays 11PM), corresponding with the 2 episodes that will be left in Series 1 (Bad Wolf and The Parting of the Ways). A seven hour marathon airs on June 16 starting at 8PM. Doctor Who is pre-empted on June 23 and 30 to allow other SciFi Friday shows to have seven hour marathons. An episode of Doctor Who is scheduled on Sunday June 25 at 11PM Eastern - my guess is that this will be Rose and the start of a Sunday night repeat airing of Series 1. SciFi has not made any announcements on whether they will pick up their option for Series Two - Series One has been one of their highest rated shows since it launched in March.
Seattle Doctor Who fans will have noticed that KBTC http://www.kbtc.org did *not* air The Three Doctors last Saturday evening. It turns out that when they delayed the pledge night for the show, they also delayed Doctor Who's relaunch on the station (would have been nice if they'd updated their schedule to show this - online listings still showed The Three Doctors on April 29 as of April 28). Here's hoping for a June relaunch.
UKTV Gold is halting its Saturday & Sunday morning Doctor Who movies after this weekend (The Twin Dilemma and the last 2 episodes of The Trial Of A Time Lord). At last word the rights to Doctor Who repeats (1963 to 1989) were up in the air, with BBC Four, UKTV Gold, and SciFi UK among the parties interested.
The BBC Press Office http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice and C21 Media
http://www.c21media.net often announce when a Doctor Who
international sale occurs. Worth keeping an eye on, just in case.
